Organizer and local artist Chuck Fulcher say the show will feature the best in Western living, including custom-made furniture, home décor, apparel and, of course, lots of fine art. “Western living shows go hand-in-hand with art auctions, as evidenced by successful events in Cody and Jackson, Wyoming,” Fulcher says. “I’m excited to have the show celebrate 10 years and to grow larger and larger every year.”

On Mach 17 through 19, the Wild Bunch Art Show returns to Great Falls, Montana, with artwork from nearly a dozen artists: Ken Acton, Janet Moczar-Buti, Jim Buti, Pamela Harr, Jeffrey Renner, Larry & LeAnn Oschsner, Connie Tveten, Matt Doyle, Janet Sullivan, Jeffrey Hoff and A. Nadine Pickthorn. The show will take place at the Hampton Inn Great Falls, and it will take place with a number of important shows happening around the same time during Western Art Week. “Since there are over a dozen events in Great Falls during Western Art Week, it is quite an accomplishment for Wild Bunch Art Show to stand out among them,” Pickthorn says. “We make certain our attendees feel welcome, appreciated, have an enjoyable experience and are not bored with the same old tired images. I have heard it said that the reason for our event’s success is that we serve the ‘world’s greatest cookies.’ Now, there may be some truth to that, but I give our participating artists’ cutting edge, no-fear approach to creativity most of the credit. We simply have a winning combination of awesome artists with unique work.”

In 2003, Montana lost Blackfeet artist and poet Kingsley “King” Kuka. The popular and well-liked artist may have passed, but his creative spirit lives on in his family and his art legacy at the First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park in Ulm, Montana, which is just outside Great Falls. On March 19, Kuka and his family—his wife, Marietta, and five children: Kqyn, Kodi, Kokko, Khi and Khol—will be celebrated in the First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park’s annual Art Show & Reception. The show will feature new and original work by the Kuka Family, as well as artist Little Shell Chippewa, and Blackfeet artist Tanya Werner and Ira Henderson, who is also an enrolled member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana. —
