“Since the beginning of the show 57 years ago, the Mountain Oyster Club has been committed to exhibiting high-quality artwork, with a particular focus [on] offer[ing] emerging artists a platform to show their work alongside nationally recognized artists,” says Alisha Taylor, show director. “Attendees and collectors can expect to view stunning works of art…in a casual, vibrant atmosphere with artists both local and from across the country. We are pleased to exhibit the work of Rachel Brownlee, Jessica Bryant, Maia Chávez Larkin, Rebekah Knight, Jonathan Noon and Kim Seyesnem Obrzut, just to name a few. First-time participating artists this year will include Morgane Antoine, Kelsey Rae Morris, Tony Pro and many more. “The importance of the Mountain Oyster art show is more than an annual art sale,” adds art committee chair Laura Davis. “Founded by ranchers, cowboys and others connected to the Western Way of life, the club has become a living piece of Tucson’s Western heritage and one of the places where the traditions of the American West are carried on…It is a gathering place for artists, collectors and those who share a deep appreciation of art of the American West.” —
