Painter Naomi Brown has been quite busy throughout 2026 in her studio in Queen Creek, Arizona. And the fall and holiday shows are calling.

Fleeting Light, oil on aluminum panel, 30 x 24 in. Available at Great American West, Settlers West Galleries, Tucson, AZ, November 21, 2026.
“It’s definitely the busiest time of year for me as I make sure I have my lineup of paintings ready for each of my shows. I like to take a little break before I start my next lineup of work for my spring shows,” she says. “Fall in the desert is my favorite time of year. It is also a great time for me to take a break and let me think creatively about what I will be painting for my spring shows.”

Sunrise at Valley of the Gods, oil on aluminum panel, 16 x 12 in. Available at Small Works, Great Wonders, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City, OK, November 13, 2026.
The artist has easy access to beautiful desert areas not far from her home. “The desert is extra beautiful as a calm peace seems to settle in as the desert heat goes away, so it can take a nice rest from the extreme temperatures,” she adds. “I have made a choice to slow down a little in my art career to take the time to do my very best work. I have had to change my schedule so it’s not as busy with all the shows I was doing before. It has been the best decision I have made. I feel more engaged and aligned with my work and what I want to convey through each one of my paintings. My love and passion is for the desert; I hold it dear to my heart.”
