This can’t be stressed enough, so it must be underlined: the best way to participate in an auction is to register for every sale you watch. It’s remarkable how frequent it is to hear a regretful collector turn to a buddy at a sale and tell them, “I wish I would have registered because I would have bid on that.” It’s like the famous sports proverb: “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” The Western art world is always thrilling, with lots of great action at museum exhibitions, galleries and even directly in artists’ studios. But auctions are having a moment that is hard to ignore. Auctions are acquiring high-quality material at record levels, sales are happening all around the country, major sales are held in every month of the year, and auction houses are making it easier than ever to bid, with proxy, telephone, in-person and online bidding. In many cases, the online bidding can be done via a convenient app that streamlines bidding, checkout and shipping. Whether you bid in the sales room, or from your living room in your robe, these sales should not be ignored. Whether it’s buying or selling art, we are proud to present you our 2026 Western Auction Directory. Good luck!

Western Trading Post is passionate about preserving and perpetuating the rich heritage and history of the American West. The auction house began its journey in 1877 with an authentic trading post in the Arizona Territory. Today, it is a family-owned and operated auction and gallery with headquarters in Wickenburg, northwest of Phoenix.
Hosting monthly auctions and handling an impressive volume—5,747 lots in 2024 alone—Western Trading Post connects buyers and sellers with more Western treasures in a year than most companies manage in two. Specializing in Western and Native Americana, vintage turquoise jewelry, firearms, Southwestern antiques, original Western art and other collectibles, Western Trading Post offers sellers and buyers a trusted place to connect and celebrate a shared love of Western culture.
Western Trading Post holds monthly auctions featuring collectible Western and Native Americana, vintage turquoise jewelry, original art, weavings, collectible weaponry and more. —
