Varied Material

Santa Fe Art Auction offers bidders a large selection of art from many categories throughout the West.

More than 400 lots will be available to bidders during the May 17 and 18 Art of the West sale from Santa Fe Art Auction. Categories will include historic and contemporary Western paintings, bronze sculpture, Native American artwork and even some Native American jewelry.

Ray Swanson (1939-2004), Setting Up Camp, gouache on  paper board,  20 x 40”  Estimate: $8/12,000 “We have a very nice selection of Western material. It’s always great to have a diverse group from the early 20th century to the modern day,” says Santa Fe Art Auction president and CEO, Gillian Blitch. “It’s a very diverse sale, but we also try to make sense of all of it within the sale. We are bringing in works that tell a thematic story about the West. And these auctions are generating a lot of positive feedback, especially after major sales achieved really great results, including our February Native American Art sale, that sold 96 percent of the lots, and our works on paper sale that sold 85 percent. The market is very strong for these kinds of materials.”
