Legacy Gallery gets Huge new Phillip Philbeck painting
Now on view at Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, is a 50-by-90-inch piece by painter Phillip Philbeck. The work, titled Days of Plenty, shows a Native American rider surveying a valley full of bison as they graze on wild grasses. Although the piece is large at 7½ feet wide, it’s actually a medium-sized work for Philbeck who’s done pieces as large as 10 feet wide. The last piece of Philbeck’s that Legacy offered was 10-footer titled Through the Eons, which showed a magnificent view of the Grand Canyon. The painter, who became a professional artist in 1992, lives in North Carolina. See more work by Philbeck by visiting the gallery website at www.legacygallery.com.

Paul Pletka piece lands at Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe
New Mexico-based painter Paul Pletka is highly respected and his work is collected around the country, and yet his name doesn’t come up a great deal mostly because available works are so hard to find. Blue Rain Gallery nabbed a piece by the artist and is offering it to collectors now in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Titled Sun Eagle, the work shows Pletka’s colorful palette and his stylized rendering of the figure. The 48-by-44-inch oil on canvas reflects his interest in the Southwest, particularly Native Americans and their cultures, clothing and customs. To make inquiries about the piece visit www.blueraingallery.com.
