 2. Wildlife images come alive in Elizabeth Mordensky’s work
An artist we’re keeping our eye on is Montana-based wildlife painter Elizabeth Mordensky, whose artworks are inspired by her experiences outdoors. Mordensky is a Yellowstone guide and avid backpacker who has seen many of her subjects in the wild during her adventures outdoors. The artist has taken the nickname Etch after her fellow hikers—she’s hiked the Appalachian, Pacific Crest and Continental Divide trails—started calling her Etch A Sketch as she drew on her hiking trips.  3. New James Morgan pieces available at InSight Gallery in Texas
James Morgan has had a busy 2021 already: not only has the artist sent work to the Masters of the American West at the Autry Museum of the American West and the Prix de West at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, he’s also sent stellar new pieces to InSight Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas. One of the new pieces is Resting Trumpeters, a lightly colored scene that seems to draw warmth from the faint light at dawn as it rakes across swans and golden grass.
