InSight Gallery’s annual Fall Group Show is a splendid affair, featuring new works from all 60 of the gallery’s roster of talented artists with 75 works on view. This year’s featured artist is figurative artist Damian Lechoszest, born in Poland. Lechoszest’s sharp, analytic mind lends itself to oil portraits and figurative works that are both technically superb and visually striking.
Jeremy Winborg, Pale Moon Rising, oil, 22 x 22”
One of Jeremy Winborg’s paintings in the exhibition is a square composition, 22 by 22 inches, of a young Native American girl on horseback. Winborg explains the piece: “This summer I took my wife, five kids and our dog, Louisa, on a long road trip through four states and two time zones. I took thousands of reference photos for future paintings and Pale Moon Rising is the first of those to be completed after our trip…Usually with my smaller pieces, I’ll crop the image down to just a single figure zoomed in, but with this piece I kept it zoomed out with the entire horse and rider which is unusual for my work. I really wanted to show this whole scene with the half-lit desert and the evening moon rising.”
Robert Pummill, Spring Arrives, oil, 12 x 18”
David Riley, new to the show this year, brings a detailed oil painting of a buffalo. “I’m very excited to have my work on display for the first time at InSight Gallery for their Fall Group Show. The gallery represents so many talented artists and I am looking forward to showing my work alongside theirs,” he says.
A still life by Ann Kraft Walker, Studio Windows, depicts two green-tinted glasses perched atop a table. “[This piece] was especially fun to create. My new studio with high north windows that stair-step in size created interesting reflections on a couple of large bottles,” she says. “Besides the stunning artwork, being with the InSight staff, other artists and guests is always a special time. I never get over the fact that I’m part of the InSight family.”
David Riley, Wind Blown, oil, 48 x 48”
Says David Griffin, “I continue to be grateful to be a part of InSight Gallery and to be included in this annual show...I’m always energized and encouraged when we can reconnect with the collectors and the other artists at this show. Because we have all been isolated for this period of time, the thing I’m looking forward to the most is hopefully the chance to get together in person and be inspired by this wonderful community of artists and their work. The real value to me is the gift of friendships I have been blessed with by being part of InSight Gallery.”
David Griffin, Unexpected Peace, oil, 32 x 24”
Other artists in the Fall Group Show include Robert Pummill and Tom Browning. The exhibition will run from September 4 to 25, along with an artist reception on Friday, September 4, from 6 to 8 in the evening.
