Red dog is what the locals call the orangeish bison calves that appear around May each year. I love to go to Yellowstone Park and photograph the babies (and the adult) bison. Often, it is truly a lovely wildflower season as well.

I live only half an hour from the wonderful Fort Hall powwow grounds...it is a delight every year to go and watch the grand entry, the presention of the flag and eat a piece of yummy fry bread or an Indian taco.
