Blue Rain places Ray Tigerman work in Colorado collection
Modern painter Ray Tigerman has done very well since joining Blue Rain Gallery. He recently sold a piece through the gallery’s location in Colorado. Louisa Palmer, a sales associate at the gallery, tells the story:“July in our little oasis of Durango, Colorado, is one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year in the gallery. Downtown comes alive as travelers escape the summer heat, seasonal residents return to the mountains and locals spend long days wandering Main Avenue. It’s a season of fresh beginnings. New homes are being finished, moving boxes are unpacked, and many collectors begin searching for artwork that will transform a house into something deeply personal.
That was the case for one of our local collectors, who recently welcomed Daughter of the Red Earth by Ray Tigerman into their new home. After making the move from part-time to full-time residence, they were ready to thoughtfully curate a collection that reflected both their aesthetic and their love of the Southwest. Ray’s work had long been on their radar—their neighbors are avid collectors, and over the years they had admired his paintings in their homes. Eventually, it became clear they wanted a Tigerman of their own.
Their newly built home offered expansive walls framed by large picture windows, creating the perfect setting for a statement piece. What first drew them to Daughter of the Red Earth was its quiet femininity. Rich layers of paint, expressive textures and an abstract yet unmistakably Southwestern palette bring warmth and movement to the space. The painting feels both grounded and powerful, transforming the atmosphere of the home while celebrating the spirit of the American Southwest.”
