Acosta Strong Fine Art celebrates Evelyne Boren’s birthday with a new solo show.

On September 18, Acosta Strong Fine Art will celebrate the 87th birthday of Southwestern painter Evelyne Boren. Blossoms Without Borders will mark more than six decades in the art world for the painter.

It is a fitting tribute to an artist whose work has inspired generations and whose creative spirit remains as vibrant as ever.”

Boren’s art career began in 1962 during a trip with her former husband, underwater cinematographer Lamar Boren. She started painting between filming sessions, and that evolved into a larger exploration of her artistic talent. In addition to her burgeoning art career, Boren was also a well-respected stunt performer and underwater stunt double. Boren doubled for Bond Girls in two Sean Connery-era James Bond movies, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice. She also was the first woman in the world to swim with a killer whale in the 1966 film Namu, the Killer Whale.
