The 41st Annual Bosque Art Classic returns to Texas Hill Country this fall.

This September, the Bosque Arts Center becomes a hub for national talent, showcasing more than 210 representational works during the annual Bosque Art Classic. The highly anticipated exhibition and sale features 136 artists, with returning talent like Brian Bateman, Carla D’aguanno, David Dorsey and Richie Vios joining others like Rhonda Morfin, Rachel Hurst, Daniel Anz, Crystal Orlando, Terri Wagner, Richard Finch and Matt Atkinson. The juried selection also highlights several rising stars, including Jason Kyser, Joseph Nguyen, Lisa Gleim, Samuel Vidrine and Joel Edwards. Newcomer Elizabeth Sage brings four paintings to the upcoming show, including Boxed In,featuring a horseback rider making a harrowing descent down a dusty canyon.

The task of narrowing down the 770 entries fell to Tim Newton, born and raised in the Rocky Mountains. A titan in the art community, Newton founded the American Masters exhibition at the Salmagundi Club and has previously lent his expertise to the Oil Painters of America and Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale. His recent portfolio includes curating the Briscoe Museum’s Night of Artists in San Antonio and leading the new Concho River Legacy Trail in San Angelo, both in Texas.

The festivities kick off on Saturday, September 12, with an exclusive opening-night gala featuring dinner, the first chance to purchase, as well as the awards announcement, headlined by the John Steven Jones Purchase Award. Following the gala, the exhibition opens to the public on Sunday. Remote collectors can also join the action when the online sale launches on Monday, September 14. The Bosque Art Classic remains on view through Saturday, September 26. —
