Jade Tantillo Morrison unveils new work on her website

Using a stunning quilt design, painter Jade Tantillo Morrison brings a fresh take to her horse and figure subjects that are nested into a paired form. “Strength can be loud. Or it can simply stand still. This piece lives in the latter,” the artist writes about the work. “The horse reads as presence: steady, grounded, unspoken strength. The quilt-like pattern behind them speaks to what we are made of and what we return to. Some women are not chasing the horizon. They are already standing in it.” The work is mixed media with pencil, watercolor and oil sticks on paper. It is available at Rennie Art Company.

Up-and-coming artist Katie Briggs makes a splash in Taos

Colorado painter Katie Briggs has completed new work that is elevating her name with collectors. Briggs paints pencil portraits, large Western cloudscapes and nostalgic images of trucks, neon lights, teepees and breathtaking landscapes. One of her new works is Range Rider’s Paradise. She paints the “modern-day world merged with the past, with some added humor put in as a way to break the two worlds,” she says. The painter will be showing at the A.R. Mitchell Museum in Colorado, later this year. She also shows at the Ranch at Taos Gallery in Taos, New Mexico, which is where Range Rider’s Paradise is now on view.

Sally Vannoy celebrates the American bison in a new work

Montana painter Sally Vannoy recently completed a stunning new work, A New Hope, featuring dozens of bison. The painting came about after a trip with her daughter. “It was just the two of us on thousands of acres in the middle of nowhere. I was overwhelmed as I contemplated the magnificence of what we were experiencing…It was sensory overload taking in the smells, sounds and sights that were before us. Honestly, it didn’t seem real,” she says. “…It was a spiritual, life-changing experience that I will hold dear to me for the rest of my life.”

Altamira Fine Art offers Maeve Eichelberger pieces

On July 31, Altamira Fine Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, will offer new works from Western Pop artist Duke Beardsley and sculptor Maeve Eichelberger, whose work is seen here with Cheetara, a hand-etched, hand-formed piece of fluorescent acrylic. These colorful and inventive works are created by heating up and forming sheets of cut acrylic. Once the sheets cool, they retain their saddle shape.
