For Kenneth Peloke’s upcoming solo show The Wild Withinat Altamira Fine Art, collectors can expect to find 10 new works featuring new painting techniques. Peloke relies on one central theme throughout his body of work, which is to “follow your passions and explore your inner voice and adventurous side,” he says. “It evokes the spirit of the West and the energy of exploration, the uncertainty of tomorrow’s adventures, and the freedom of not knowing where or what you might encounter.”

Gettin Ready, acrylic on canvas, 72 x 72 in.
Adding a new style is significant to Peloke, because he values versatility. “While my subject matter remains consistent—realistic wildlife and portraits; colorful, abstract cowboys; and monochromatic motion-based black-and-white cowboy imagery— I enjoy experimenting with different painting or drawing techniques, capturing various ideas in my mind,” he shares.
For pieces like Chasin the Sunset, Peloke notes that he was inspired by the idea of galloping on a horse, perhaps venturing out of town or into the wide-open range or desert.”
In Getting Ready, Peloke was inspired by images of roping and catching strays during a cattle drive, or just practicing or competing in the arena. The result: an abstracted view of a roping cowboy against a white background. Peloke plays impressively with negative space.

Chasin the Sunset, oil on canvas, 48 x 36 in.
“Peloke has a rare ability to make Western imagery feel both iconic and deeply contemporary,” shares Jason Williams, owner of Altamira Fine Art. “He understands the power of familiar Western subjects, but he approaches them with restraint, sophistication and a strong modern design sense. This exhibition captures both the elegance and the energy of the Western experience.”
