Artist Focus: Kathi Holzer

Kathi Holzer is an artist whose expressive works are rooted in determination and a deep appreciation for the world around her.

“Holzer embraces art with an inspiring sense of curiosity,” says Nelli Garibyan, owner and curator of Idaho Art Gallery. “Her work reflects both discipline and freedom, balancing thoughtful composition with fearless experimentation across acrylics, oils, watercolor, encaustic and mixed media.”

Freedom, encaustic, 30 x 30 in.

Dancing Angel, encaustic, 42 x 42 in.

Drawing inspiration from nature, athletics and the human spirit, Holzer creates paintings that feel deeply personal while remaining universally relatable. Her layered textures and expressive style invite viewers to slow down, connect emotionally and find beauty in everyday moments. Through her evolving practice, Holzer reminds viewers that creativity can flourish at any stage of life.

Holzer is represented by Idaho Art Gallery, where her work is currently on view. Visit IAG in downtown Boise and downtown Meridian to experience and collect Holzer’s work in person.

She will also be showing her work at the upcoming Western Design Conference, August 6 through 9, in Bozeman, Montana.

Buffalo, encaustic, 36 x 36 in.
