When Naomi Shachar began exhibiting her paintings about 15 years ago, the California art community immediately took notice. Soon after that she was exhibiting and gaining recognition for her work across the United States.
A resident of Mission Viejo, California, Shachar works primarily in oil. The primary focus of most of her work is Western themes, including land- and seascapes, horses and still life. In July 2024, her equine painting Cooling Off was awarded best of show at the Art 2024 Tehachapiexhibition in Tehachapi, California.

Shachar was born in Israel and says her love of art was inherited from her Hungarian mother. Educated as an interior designer, she felt her natural creativity and self-expression were inhibited. Her first artistic creations were decorative ceramic works and sculptures, but soon after arriving in the United States she discovered that fine art painting was her true passion. Following her move to Mission Viejo, she focused on developing her skills, studying color theory and experimenting with different drawing and painting techniques that helped her transfer her visions to canvas. Today her professional affiliations include Women Artists of the West (master artist), Oil Painters of America (signature artist) and the California Art Club (artist member).
