Wildlife Bonanza

Welcome to the September issue of Western Art Collector! This issue happens to be my favorite issue of the year. Of course, every issue is Adolfo’s favorite, but I really like wildlife. Growing up we had many wildlife sightings with cowboy cousins from Pullman, Washington, and a large cattle ranch and wheat farm. Viewing this wildlife issue brings great joy to me. The artists in this issue are amazing and wildlife art is an important collecting genre for most people. Wildlife art adds visual tension, texture, narrative and emotion to your collection. This is why people are drawn to wildlife in the natural world and in art.

In my opinion, a Western art collection, complete with examples from the wildlife category, shapes the experience of entering a room. Good design in a room tells a story and great art tells a true story—a story rooted in place, culture and people. This is the feeling Western art inspires. A well-designed Western home with an exceptional art collection brings a heartbeat to the space. The work becomes more than decorative; it becomes part of the architecture. So, if you wonder why choosing your collection and decor is tough, it is for this exact reason: it creates a soul!

Western Art Collector loves to showcase a wide range of working artists in every issue. We also love to spotlight genres so you can focus your collecting energy on the exact art you want. Our coverage in this areas also provide context—the galleries representing the artist, the exhibition history and the artists’ overall upward momentum and collectability.

If you would like to hear even more inspirational stories from wildlife artists, we have a gift for you. We have interviewed many fascinating artists on our podcast, the American Art Collective. The two we would like to spotlight this issue are Jeremy Bradshaw (Episode #246) and Dustin Van Wechel (Episode #64). Both offer great insight into the world of wildlife art.
