Beginning September 2, InSight Gallery opens for its biggest show of the year, the Annual Fall Gallery Showcase. Collectors can expect around 90 artworks created by some of the gallery’s brightest painters and sculptors. And, because each artist is expected to display multiple pieces, there will be quite a range of styles, subject matter and sizes to choose from.
“We look forward to this show every year,” says Elizabeth Harris, gallery director. “As the work begins streaming into the gallery, we are reminded what an unbelievably talented group of artists we have the privilege of working with. The Fall Gallery Showcaseushers in the fresh energy and anticipation that comes with the fall season, and it is one that our clients look forward to annually.”

Jeremy Browne, One More Night, acrylic, 9 x 15 in.
One artist to look for is Jeremy Winborg, whose focus in his paintings is to tell the stories of Indigenous women. “When I first started out painting, I found that many stories of these women have fallen through the cracks and don’t get shared as much as they should,” the artist says. “As I’ve studied their history, they’ve inspired me to want to use my talents to bring attention to them. I’m also currently working on a series of religious paintings that I’m really excited about.”

Robert Moore, Amarillo, oil, 30 x 40 in.
For one of Winborg’s InSight pieces, Under Painted Skies, he paints a Native American woman on horseback set against a layered landscape full of color, texture and detail. “This painting was inspired by a trip to Montana where I was fortunate enough to join a local Crow family as they attended the annual Crow fair,” says Winborg. “It was a great experience, and I am glad to have the chance to get to know this family. The more I read and research the Native tribes of the United States, the more I find stories of Native women that would take up their weaponry and do all that they could to protect their tribe and their way of life.”
Additional show highlights include paintings by Robert Moore, known for his natural color systems inside a simple value design. “When painting the [show] piece Amarillo,I was challenged with creating a sense of a heavily wooded aspen grove while maintaining a unified design,” Moore shares. “Yellows are difficult to not be overbearing.”

John Fawcett, Favorite Hen, oil, 24 x 18 in.
He continues, “I love the fall time and spend much of it in the mountains, searching for compositions and refreshing myself after a busy summer. I tend toward aspen because I am colorblind, and the white bark of the tree allow allows me to reflect multiple hues without having to identify them. The yellow aspen are classic images for the wonderful autumn season.”
Additional highlights include figurative work like Favorite Hen and The Medicine Bundle by John Fawcett; moody barn scenes such as One More Nightby Jeremy Browne; still life scenes and landscapes by Aleksander Titovets and Cyrus Afsary; animal and wildlife sculpture by Mick Doellinger and Walter Matia; and so much more.
