Artist Focus: Sean Michael Chavez

Native New Mexican painter Sean Michael Chavez has become a notable figure in Western art, celebrated for his evocative depictions of the vaquero. Bridging tradition and innovation, Chavez draws inspiration from the Taos Society of Artists while charting new paths for the genre. His signature approach to color and design has earned national acclaim, with work featured in national publications including Western Art Collector.

Chavez credits much of his success to his representation by Acosta Strong Fine Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Owner Carlos Acosta’s dedicated advocacy has provided him with a platform to thrive.
