Robert Steiner has had a highly distinguished career in a number of painting genres, including landscape and wildlife.

Golden Canyon, acrylic on canvas, 18 x 24 in.
Steiner is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and has received the Childe Hassam Purchase Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has also been awarded two commendations from the governor and state senate of California. Additional awards include two Federal Duck Stamp art competitions and 82 state duck stamp art contests (the most of any artist), numerous awards in landscape, acrylic and other categories from the International Guild of Realism, American Artists Professional League and other organizations.

Bridalveil, acrylic on aluminum, 16 x 22 in.
Steiner’s work has been profiled in many newspapers, magazines and books including the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, American Art Collector and on local and national television. American Art Collector described his landscape paintings as “impeccable.”
In his landscape paintings, he communicates his sense of wonder and appreciation for the unspeakable beauty of the natural world. He has always marveled at the minute detail of the universe as well as its vast expanses.

Glacier, acrylic on aluminum, 16 x 24 in.
The artist particularly enjoys the scenery of the American West because of the interesting rock formations, which allow him to use shadows and highlights to create a strong structure and composition. The intricate details of texture can then be hung on this framework to create a convincing illusion of three-dimensional objects and space.
He calls his style romantic photorealism and considers his work a hymn to the beauty of creation. —
