Dan Knepper brings new work to Jackson Hole
Painter Dan Knepper, who’s been on a hot streak throughout the last year, will be showing a brand new painting at the Jackson Hole Art Auction on September 14 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The sale, which always features a stunning selection of wildlife and landscape art, will take place at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts. His piece, The Last Wild Places, features a waterfall crashing around a rocky stream. “I went to the mountains and realized this is what I want to paint, the last wild places,” the artist notes about the work.

New Nancy Boren work sails out over the West
Riding the Prairie Wind, showing a figure clinging to the ladder of a windmill as the wind whips past him, is now available from painter Nancy Boren. The work, uniquely composed and beautifully colored with an orange and blue sky, offers a fresh take on a classic image rarely seen in Western art. Her brushwork is loose around the edges of the painting, but the silhouette is tight and meticulously formed against the bright background, which allows the figure to anchor the center of the painting.

Samuel Colman work lands at Thomas Colville Fine Art
This section routinely features new works from living artists, but it also highlights older works that are now available at galleries nationwide. One piece now on the market is Samuel Colman’s gouache on paper Colorado Cañon. The work is at Thomas Colville Fine Art in Guilford, Connecticut. “Coleman (1832-1920), the first president of the American Society of Painters in Watercolor, first traveled to Colorado in 1870, returning on several trips in the 1880s during which Colorado Cañon was painted,” Colville notes. “Colman captures the majestic grandeur of the canyon’s glowing cliffs, which he contrasts to a gentle and welcoming iridescent river.”

Rudi Broschofsky joins Gallery Wild
Gallery Wild recently announced the representation of three new artists: Nicole Gaitan, Sandy Graves and Rudi Broschofsky, whose modern interpretations of the West should entice collectors interested in contemporary works for their collection. This work, spray painted on hand-cut paper, is part of a series of works titled John Ford Point – Monument Valley. Broschofsky leans very modern, but his work also has a Pop Art aesthetic as he manipulates and transforms iconic imagery into new works of art.
