Painter Aaron Yount is the featured artist at a special new exhibition, East Meets West,at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum in Oradell, New Jersey. The exhibition, now open through December 1, will feature that artist’s timeless images of wildlife and wilderness.
Lone Hunter, acrylic on canvas, 15 x 30 in.“Aaron Yount is an artist who works in a realistic style depicting wildlife and their habitats. Through his paintings and sculptures he hopes to establish a connection between the subject and the viewer,” the museum notes about the painter. “Since his time at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum as artist-in-residence from 2012 to 2015 he has focused his work on the wildlife of the Rocky Mountains. While working on his exhibition East Meets West, he traveled from Rocky Mountain National Park to the northern areas of Glacier National Park in search of his subjects. He finds inspiration everywhere. By simply being in nature and giving his attention to it the ideas are presented to him. Aaron believes that the complexity and beauty of the natural world is unmatched. In his attempts to recreate a fraction of the feelings inspired by nature he hopes to share the experience with people who are unaware of it, or physically unable to travel to some of the remote areas where this beauty is found.”
