Market Party

Santa Fe Trails Fine Art hosts a Western-themed art show to launch with Santa Fe Indian Market.

The center of the art world becomes Santa Fe, New Mexico, during the third weekend of August when Santa Fe Indian Market takes over the downtown area. That one event, and the huge draw of people it brings out, inspires other events all around town, from art fairs, gallery openings, museum galas and much more. One venue that has long celebrated during that busy time is Santa Fe Trails Fine Art. This year will be no exception as the gallery welcomes artists and their newest works for its Indian Market Art Show 2024.

“Join us for this year’s highly anticipated Indian Market, where the essence and heart of the American West are brought to life on canvas, bronze and stone sculpture,” the gallery notes. “From the legendry works of Cowboy Artists of America artists Brandon Bailey, Wayne Baize, Mikel Donahue, Alvin Marshall, Dustin Payne, Dave Santillanes and Jack Sorenson, to the trailblazing works of Sally Maxwell, Greg Overton, Jordyn Payne, Vic Payne and Jerry Ricketson, these visionaries are about to unleash their latest masterpieces upon the world. Prepare to be enchanted!”

Adding to the festive atmosphere of the show is the gallery’s proximity to the Santa Fe Plaza. Just a block away from the plaza, and across the street from both the La Fonda Hotel and the Loretto Chapel, Santa Fe Trails Fine Art is easily accessible to many hotels, restaurants and art events, putting it right in the middle of a world-class art destination.

The show will include several events eager collectors should put on their calendars. On Thursday, August 15, there is an exclusive invite-only soirée from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed on Friday, August 16, by the public party, also from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, August 17, the first day of Santa Fe Indian Market, the gallery will open at 9 a.m. through 6 p.m. Artists are expected to be in attendance at various times so collectors can ask questions and learn stories about available works. The action picks up again on Sunday, August 18, with a tamale and Bloody Mary brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., after which the gallery will remain open until 6 p.m.
