Upcoming Solo & Group Shows

Stunning Variety

Two new shows open at Gallery Wild in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

A pair of new shows that will allow collectors to ponder the land and the creatures that inhabit it, is opening in July at Gallery Wild in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The first show, Patricia A. Griffin’s Intrinsic, opens July 4 and will run through July 15, with an artist reception held on opening night, from 5 to 8 p.m. Griffin’s work, loose and textured, often shows wilderness areas in or near Wyoming, where the artist has long been fascinated by the abundance of wildlife.

Patricia A. Griffin, 1856, oil on linen, 40 x 90 in.

“Patricia A. Griffin explores themes of belonging, connectedness and untamed beauty in her latest body of work. Griffin’s intuitive use of color, placing deliberate individual layers of color strokes, creates vibrations akin to a distant memory or a dream. The results are dynamic wildlife portraits that catapult her subjects, along with her viewer, into an ethereal realm where they share the same space, emphasizing this interconnected spirit among living beings,” says gallery owner and artist Carrie Wild. “Griffin is one of our local artists here in Jackson Hole. Her Kelly, Wyoming, studio, with windows opening up to the heart of Grand Teton National Park, is a source of endless inspiration.”

Many of Griffin’s works in the show will be quite large, with some measuring 60, 72 and even 90 inches wide. Subjects include bear, bison and elk.

Caleb Meyer, Gradual Light, oil on canvas, 48 x 60 in.

The second event is a two-artist show featuring the work of Amber Blazina and Caleb Meyer, which opens July 18 and runs through July 28. Titled Road Less Traveled, the show will feature around 30 works from the two artists. Meyer will be showing his landscape pieces, including his large mountain scene Gradual Light, while Blazina will be offering wildlife subjects, one of which is Burgundy, a large and loosely painted bison.

Beginning July 4 and continuing throughout July, Gallery Wild will present major new paintings from four artists spread across three remarkable shows.

Patricia A. Griffin, When We Were Bears, oil on linen, 36 x 60 in.

Road Less Traveled…showcases their plein air mastery in capturing the essence of solitude and nature’s untouched beauty. Caleb Meyer’s palette knife landscapes skillfully seize the fleeting light of pristine environments, subtly incorporating traces of human presence to add depth and narrative,” Wild says. “In contrast, Amber Blazina’s work offers a window into the tranquil interactions with wildlife, conveying the stoic majesty of her subjects through bold, gestural strokes. Her paintings strike a balance between precision and freedom, allowing the viewer space to engage and interpret. Together, their works invite audiences to explore the serene and often overlooked pathways of the natural world, making Road Less Traveled a profound artistic journey into the wild.” —
