Dustin Van Wechel sends new painting to Trailside Galleries
Recently arriving at Trailside Galleries is Answering the Call, a new wildlife piece by longtime gallery artist Dustin Van Wechel. “Hiking along a shallow creek in northwestern Wyoming on a very warm September day, I could hear the bugling of a couple of bull elk in the distance,” the artist says. “This beautiful setting, and the haunting calls of the rutting bulls, were all the inspiration I needed to create Answering The Call—a painting I hope captures my experience on that day by the creek.” To make inquiries about the work, visit www.trailsidegalleries.com.

Blue Rain Gallery presents new work from Robin Jones
Painter Robin Jones is presently showing with Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her work dwells on faces and expressions, as well as hair, feathers and texture. Her Western work draws from horses and other creatures that make their home in the desert. “I’m a figurative painter with a focus on the natural world and the influence of human activity upon that world, galvanized by the impact of global climate change and the current mass extinction event we are witnessing across the globe,” she says. “My love of figurative art stems from a desire to evoke empathy and compassion, to elevate those who may not typically find themselves subjects on gallery and museum walls, to highlight the commonalities we share across cultures and to convey the interconnectedness of all living beings on the planet.” See more of her work at www.blueraingallery.com.

New Western landscapes available from Matt Ryder
Matt Ryder is something of a world traveler. The British-born painter is presently living and working in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. As often as he can, Ryder spends time in the Southwestern United States, including recently in the Vermilion Cliffs area, which has inspired a variety of new work. This work, Vermillion High Rise, is presently available at Medicine Man Gallery, which is representing some of Ryder’s Western artwork. For more information, visit www.medicinemangallery.com.

Kenneth Spirduso paints new cowboy work from his Florida studio
Based in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Kenneth Spirduso proves that cowboy artwork doesn’t have to originate in the West. For his newest work, Early Morning Work, the artist explains: “It was an early morning. The warm sunlight touched the tops of the trees, while the rest of the world was still covered in cool shadows. My friend, Jason, rode quietly out preparing for a hard morning’s work. The sound of cattle and singing birds filled the air. It was a memorable moment.” For more information, visit www.spirduso.com. —
