Lisa Danielle completes stunning new work
Still life painter Lisa Danielle has been busy in her studio in Sedona, Arizona. She recently completed this major new work, The Birds and the Beads, which shows three shelves of Native American objects. Her subjects for the painting came from her collection, filled with remarkable treasures and works of art. She calls it a “whimsical linking of diverse Pueblo and Plateau objects.” The work is part of a new showcase series inspired by frames reminiscent of fine cabinetry. The painting is headed to Sorrel Sky Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in time for Santa Fe Indian Market and major events during the late summer season.

Ann Kraft Walker shows new still life at InSight Gallery
Now available at InSight Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas, is Coon Hunt, a new work from painter Ann Kraft Walker. “My youngest son found the skull in the woods. My parents brought the moonshine jug to me from Appalachia about 40 years ago,” Walker says of the piece. “But the best part…the horn belonged to my husband’s grandfather who used to coon hunt. He would use the horn to call his dogs back when they were on hunts.” The show opens September 1 and runs through September 22. —
