The Grand Canyon Celebration of Art returns to Northern Arizona in September

There is no shortage of inspiration an artist can draw from the majestic setting of the Grand Canyon. Capturing it alone can be intimidating, but capturing it in the moment with an audience is on another level.

From September 9 to 16, invited artists from all over the country will find their spot on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon painting in plein air during the Grand Canyon Celebration of Art, hosted by the Grand Canyon Conservancy. Participating artists include Joshua Been, John Cogan, Michelle Condrat, Bill Cramer, Susie Hyer, Russell Johnson, Dawn Sutherland and many others.

Works completed during this time, and at the annual paint-out event on September 15, will be shown with the artists’ studio pieces at Kolb Studio, which overlooks the South Rim. Any unsold works will be available for purchase until January 15, 2024. There will also be an online silent auction that runs from September 1 through 16, with winners announced on September 17. Collectors are encouraged to visit shop.grandcanyon.org.
