Aspen Embers heads to Reno, Nevada
Painter Dan Knepper has completed Aspen Embers, a 36-by-36-inch oil painting destined for the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction on July 15 in Reno, Nevada. “Though the mule deer is the focal point, it was the flame-like color of the autumn aspen leaves that drew me to this scene, especially the transition from the large foreground leaves on the left to the left background conflagration of color,” the artist notes. Blue Rain shows new work by GL Richardson
David, a new work by painter GL Richardson, is now on view at Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. “Straddling the line between abstract expressionism and Western pop, Richardson’s work finds footing in a unique place between conceptualism and pure emotion,” the gallery says. “With identifying human truths as perhaps the only tenuous ligament connecting his past life in advertising and ranching, his work aims to distill life’s complexities into base analogies.” See more of his work at www.blueraingallery.com.

Animal pairing now available at Trailside
Lori Forest has I’ve Got Your Back now available at Trailside Galleries. “Through the seasons, nature shows us many ever-changing moods and subtle secrets. From the delicate new life of spring to the power of the autumn rut, many of us have been witness to these inspiring glimpses of wildlife in their world,” Forest says. “There is a subtle, less-visited season that inspires me as an artist, more than all the others—winter. With its quiet snowfall, transforming even the most mundane views into something of wonder and delight, or its raging wind-driven snow sculpting drifts of exquisite form and grace—each day is unique.” See more at www.trailsidegalleries.com.

Large work by Thom Ross now available in Utah
Thom Ross’ 6 Cowboys, showing a distinctive lineup of figures against a fence, is now available at Mountain Trails Gallery in Park City, Utah. “In this piece, Thom Ross recreates an old family photograph that shows his paternal grandfather standing at the far right. The man standing next to him is Hector Cheschi, who Thom Ross knew very well when he was young,” the gallery notes. “The two men hunted deer in the area surrounding Mt. Lassen, California, and Ross suspects they were helping with a round-up when the original photograph was taken.” —
