John Coleman sells out InSight show in Texas
Arizona artist John Coleman was in Fredericksburg, Texas, on October 8 for a new show at InSight Gallery. The show was opened by Cheyenne dancer and designer Nan Blessingame and several other Native American dancers. In a period of about 90 minutes, InSight was not only able to sell all of Coleman’s paintings and drawings, but also every edition of two bronze works available. After two major shows at Legacy Gallery in 2016 and 2020, and now a successful InSight Gallery show, the artist’s hot streak continues.

Double-header at Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale
Two major solo shows saw exceptional sales at Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. Both Kyle Polzin and Z.S. Liang were presenting new work October 22 at Legacy, and both artists had high praise from collectors as well as high sales. Liang sold 13 out of 16 on opening night, and Polzin sold all eight of his works, including two that sold via auction for $110,000 each. Polzin has had somewhat regular shows with Legacy, and all have done well, but this was Liang’s first solo show with the gallery. He brought 16 new paintings, the largest collection of new Liang works ever offered at once.

Jeremy Bradshaw gains a new collector in Missouri
Gallery Wild in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, recently sold four bronze works by Jeremy Bradshaw to one collector from Springfield, Missouri. “Initially she fell in love with Cinnamon Roll and The Red Queen, but after they were home, she loved the smooth surfaces, unique personalities captured in Bradshaw’s work and how his stone-like patinas fit with her rock walls and water features,” Gallery Wild notes. “Bradshaw sculptures are the result of days of him observing his subjects to capture the moments of an animal’s life that bring ‘awe’ and make you hold your breath for a moment to take it in, or moments that make you say ‘aww’ and comes with a grin, because we could all use a reminder to smile from time to time! Jeremy Bradshaw himself was able to make the trip to deliver and install the sculptures and the collector is considering some others to add to her collection.”

Ed Sandoval gains new fans at Canyon Road Contemporary
Nancy Ouiment, owner of Canyon Road Contemporary in Santa Fe, New Mexico, relates the following story: “The night before the [Canyon Road Paint and Sculpt Out], a young couple came into town to celebrate 16 years of marriage and wished to purchase a work of art in Santa Fe. They came by after hours. I happened to be here and let them into the gallery. They were immediately taken with Ed Sandoval’s paintings and the deep symbolic imagery of El Viejito and La Viejita. In most of Ed’s most recent paintings, both are shown walking into the beautiful New Mexico landscape, usually holding hands. Needless to say, this resonated with the visiting young couple, as they look toward their future together in similar embrace! I told them that the famous artist was going to be painting at the Paint Out. They came to the event and spent nearly the entire day watching Ed Sandoval paint a 24-by-18-inch painting from the beginning of the event. As the painting developed, the artist kept adding things to the painting in response to the couple’s comments. The couple realized they were participating in creating the piece and felt the magic of the day. They just knew they had to have that one, and purchased it before it was even completed!”
