Known for its affordable works from top artists and the competitive way the works are offered, Black Friday is one of Maxwell Alexander’s most hyped annual shows. John Moyers, Bright Brush, oil, 8 x 8”

Tim Solliday, Tent Meeting, pastel, 7¼ x 8¼”

Black Friday is a show we created initially to make it easy for new collectors to buy their first piece of original art, but it has grown to be one of our most popular shows each year with all levels of collectors purchasing original art by their favorite artists,” says gallery director Beau Alexander. “In the Black Friday exhibition, we have all the best artists in the West create at least one piece of original art priced at $2,500 or under.  Last year we sold 100 paintings in less than 15 minutes. All the paintings go live on our website at 9 a.m. [Pacific time] on Black Friday, November 25, and are sold on a first-come/first-served basis.”Eric Merrell, Antennae, oil, 14 x 14”Alexander adds that the show will have around 150 pieces, and they will only be offered for 24 hours and only online at www.maxwellalxandergallery.com. Collectors are urged to be ready prior to 9 a.m. so they are ready as the sale opens.

Artists in the show include many of the top artists in the gallery, including Glenn Dean, Josh Elliott, Eric Bowman, Logan Maxwell Hagege and many others. John Moyers will have two works this year: Bright Brush, a colorful image of a rider on a horseback, and Sitting Bull, a portrait of the famous Native American leader. Mick Doellinger, Ram Skull, bronze, 4¼ x 7½ x 5½”Eric Merrell will be showing a magnificent desert landscape with silhouetted Joshua trees and Tim Solliday will be presenting a pastel work showing several Native American figures outside near a teepee.

Bronze artist Mick Doellinger will be offering Ram Skull, while Edward Minoff has painted Frothy Wave, a seascape of a foamy shoreline. —
