Artist Focus: Gary Lee Price

A closer look at the artwork of Gary Lee Price

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The spirit of man is what makes him unique above all of God’s creations.” Gary Lee Price aims to capture this spirit as close as humanly possible in his sculpture meant to lift the human spirit and inspire. This is the essence of Price’s work.Earth, Wind ‘n Fire, bronze, 30”

“My passion for art and my belief that art empowers and lifts the human spirit has only grown stronger throughout my life.
I have been blessed with many generous and selfless mentors, and my dream is to pass those gifts on to others,” he says. To this end Price often teaches workshops to individuals, groups and corporations on the aspects of creation and manifestation.

Price, a 1981 fine arts graduate of the University of Utah, believes in “perpetual student-hood.” He finds travel and research an important part of his life—he has lived two years in Germany, as well as six months in Israel, and a month touring the jungles and ruins of Mexico and Guatemala. Price has done research in 11 different European countries including one full month in Egypt. In 1991 he was elected a member of the National Sculpture Society. He has recently been elected by his peers as a fellow of this prestigious organization.Buffalo Thunder, bronze, 28”

The sculptures of Gary Lee Price are displayed with a select group of 15 galleries throughout the United States. “I hope

I can assist the world in visualizing a place where fences and boundaries, both real and imagined, are nonexistent,” he says. “A place where bias and prejudice are long forgotten. And finally, a place where acts of kindness, mutual respect and love are everyday happenings.” —
