Into the Southwest

Wyoming-based Gallery Wild expands to famous Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Carrie Wild, owner of Gallery Wild in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, has been mulling over a second gallery location for several years, and always at the top of the list was Santa Fe, New Mexico. Starting this summer, she’s going to get her wish as Gallery Wild expands to one of Santa Fe’s most famous art destinations, Canyon Road.Gallery Wild on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

“It’s a vibrant established art community where we felt our gallery would both fit in, yet also contribute to the arts culture in our own way,” Wild says. “Canyon Road definitely has a special magic within it that you can feel while exploring the street. Inspired by wildlife and wild places, our collection is as much about communicating the feeling of special experiences in nature as it is the actual subject of the work. Canyon Road’s relationship to both the history and progression of Western art makes it an ideal home for our gallery’s expansion. We are excited to be included in Canyon Road’s repertoire of galleries and hope that the contemporary style of our artists offers a fresh perspective on Western and wildlife art.”Carrie Wild, Lives in Daydreams, acrylic and gold leaf on canvas, 48 x 72”

Wild says that many of the gallery’s artists will be joining her in Santa Fe and they are excited to bring artwork that will have stronger Southwestern themes. “The area’s desert ecosystem and wildlife will allow our artists to explore and be inspired by different subjects and landscapes that they have been dreaming of creating works to represent,” she adds.

The gallery is now open. Visit www.gallerywild.com  for more information. —
