Shannon Lawlor completes 25-painting series on the Pitchfork Ranch
After spending considerable time on the Pitchfork Ranch in West Texas, Shannon Lawlor returned to her studio to complete a 25-work series inspired by the ranch and by the photography of Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame inductee Bob Moorhouse, who documented the ranch for 35 years. “This collection is very rooted in cowboy/ranch history and is as authentic as you can get, which is what my work is all about,” says Lawlor. “I feel so honored to have been chosen to paint these pieces and further immortalize the historical Pitchfork Ranch.” Learn more about Lawlor and the series at

Utah-based painter Liz Hovley offers a fresh perspective of the West
Using colorful design and composition, and a lovely interplay between realism and abstraction, Salt Lake City painter Liz Hovley is offering unique views of wildlife, cattle and other subjects in the West. “My work is inspired by the wildlife and scenery I see in my home state, Utah,” she says. “I try to capture the ‘feeling’ of the subject and landscape through bold colors and patterns. Each piece is embodied with joyful emotions.” See more of her work at www.lizhovley.com. —
