The work on view in the exhibition will include North American animals with an emphasis on animals from the western United States, including bears, bighorn sheep, horses, bobcats and many other species. Many of the pieces, which are done in both acrylic and oil paint, rely on her use of light and shadow, as well as black and white. Her limited palette and careful compositions allow her to use her brush more like a sketching tool than a brush.

“I want to capture the beauty and detail of the wildlife that I have loved my entire life,” she says. “I strive to create a sense of vitality in each painting. A part of who I am goes into each and every stroke of my brush.”
