After waiting two years for a major show, the Cowboy Artists of America returned to the art market on November 5 and 6 in Fort Worth, Texas, where the group was greeted by its longtime supporters and devoted collectors, who helped bring in more than $1.2 million in art sales.
Not only was the sale up 30 percent from 2019, the show sold 72 percent of available work during the exhibition—88 works of art, including 16 bronze castings. The CAA partnered with the Fort Worth Stock Show for this year’s show, which likely introduced the group to a new batch of collectors. Artists that had noteworthy sold-out presentations include C. Michael Dudash, Tyler Crow, Loren Entz, Martin Grelle and Oreland Joe.
CA president Bruce Greene talks to the artists and invited guests at the 2021 show in Fort Worth, Texas.
“The show and sale was a resounding success! Collectors filled the room with energy and excitement as the huge percentage of art sold headed for new homes,” says Bruce Greene, who took the reins as president for the CAA for the next year. “I have seldom seen a sale night that would compare with what we saw in Fort Worth, Texas. The Cowboy Artists of America greatly appreciate the support of the Fort Worth Stock Show and all of the wonderful donors and collectors who made this fantastic event possible. We are already getting ready for next year.”
