Dan Knepper gains two prominent new collectors
Ohio landscape and wildlife painter Dan Knepper has had a hot streak after advertising in the pages of Western Art Collector. He recently sold Wyoming Morning to John Coors, a member of the brewery family. The collector liked the piece so much that he’s going to commission more work from the painter. And then Knepper also sold his bear piece Into the Light to a collector who saw it in the pages of the magazine. “She found my work through advertising in the magazine,” Knepper adds. Colorado painter meets new collector from advertisement
Painter Amanda Ward was excited to take a recent phone call from a reader who saw her work in the magazine. “She saw my ad on Page 103 of September’s issue of Western Art Collector. She said she loved my use of bold colors and wanted to know how much
I was asking for the piece,” Ward says. “As the conversation progressed, she had mentioned how much she loved golden eagles. I told her I had another painting of a golden eagle that was 20 by 20 inches.” In the end, Ward made a new collector who was enamored with her work and will be following her career moving forward.
