Plein air artist Dick Wimberly communicates the moods and seasons of nature in his paintings. He’s has been drawing, painting and sculpting in some form for as long as he can remember. “I feel strongly that I’ve been given the gift of translating what I see and feel to paint on canvas,” Wimberly explains. “I’m responsible and obliged to share that gift.”

His work is characterized by authenticity; he prefers to paint on location to better capture the feel of his subject, even when that involves high winds, blowing dirt, sweltering heat or bitter cold.
“In the process of capturing a painting, there is a state of spiritual flow I enter into that makes everything come together and worthwhile,” Wimberly says. “Art is about giving and receiving. It’s about sharing the beauty that I see in my heart and eyes with others.”
