The Oil Painters of America’s Annual National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils, originally set to take place in May, will be running this year from October 16 to November 28 at RS Hanna Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas. Celebrating its 29th year, the anticipated show features more than 200 juried original works from OPA members. Kicking off the event is the opening reception, held October 16, in which collectors have the first opportunity to purchase new artwork and get a glimpse of the show. This is also where awards will be given by the 2020 juror, Rose Frantzen.

One of the many talented artists whose work has been juried into this year’s exhibition is Jeremy Goodding. His oil Tamegroute Green is a still life of a handmade ceramic pot against a neutral backdrop. “Tamegroute is a small Moroccan village known for its beautiful green ceramics. I am fortunate to own one small piece of pottery from this area, which has a subtle combination of reds, yellows and greens,” says the artist. “This inspired a rich, light-and-shadow painting harmonized by these colors. When I constructed the setup, a playful sequence of leaves and berries fell into place. These elements hint at my desire to capture the presence of things in their natural state.”
