The event, which takes place Memorial Day Weekend, May 23 to 25, showcases original works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, pastel, sculpture and drawing. While the juried show features well-established artists, the works of a variety of emerging Western artists will also be showcased. Attendees have the opportunity to meet some of the best in the Western art world today in a casual outdoor setting, as well as view and purchase new works.Visitors browse artwork during the 2019 event.

“This year has been like no other in the history of the Phippen Museum, and we’re hoping to keep this 46-year tradition of outstanding Western fine art alive in 2020,” says Edd Kellerman, executive director at the Phippen. “But if current circumstances dictate that we cancel this year’s show and sale, we’ll do what’s best for our artists and guests, and I know we’ll come back even stronger in 2021. Because our incredible base of dedicated volunteers, sponsors and Phippen friends and family have always remained steadfast in supporting our efforts to present and promote the great art of the American West.”
