Cattle on the Coast

Cattlemen’s Western Art Show returns for its 30th year in Paso Robles, California.

Marking a milestone, the San Luis Obispo Cattlemen’s Association is presenting the 30th annual Cattlemen’s Western Art Show beginning April 3 at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, California. The three-day show will feature more than 400 new works of art from a variety of prominent Western artists. Valeriy Kagounkin, Heading to the Rain, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 44”

“Being one of the only shows left on the Central Coast, this is a unique opportunity to meet the artists and become a part of the world of art. The ability to talk to each artist and step into their world, learn the stories behind each piece and why they create what they do…Their passion is contagious and will leave you wishing to become a collector,” says organizer Dee Pellandini. “For the serious collector or the beginner there is something for everyone—Western [art] in acrylics, oil, pencil, pastels, scratchboard and sculptures. Over 400 new works will be on display and available for purchase. If an original piece of art is not within your budget, a reproduction may be available in a separate area.”Dennis Curry, Hillside Meander, oil, 20 x 24”

This year’s featured artist is Valeriy Kagounkin, a Russian-born artist who has been recognized with awards and honors around the world for his artwork. His Western subject matter will take center stage at Cattlemen’s, where he will present classic cowboy images, as well as scenes of roundups and cattle.

The event begins April 3 with an artist reception from 5 to 9 p.m. The show continues on April 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on April 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information visit cattlemenswesternartshow.com. —
