Beginning December 12, Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, will be offering more than 200 new works during the 19th annual Holiday Small Works Show. The show, which runs through December 31, will feature works that are no larger than 12 by 16 inches.

Artists in the show include some of the gallery’s top artists, such as Bill Anton, Glenn Dean, C. Michael Dudash, Kyle Polzin, Carrie Ballantyne, Daniel Keys, Don Oelze, Kathy Anderson, Ken Carlson and many others. 
George Hallmark, Blanco, oil, 16 x 12”
David Mann’s piece Early Thaw, showing a winter scene with a Native American figure and his horse, will be in the show. “Winter’s icy grip is broken by a warm breeze that has drawn this Plains Indian to the top of a hill where the moon and the wind whisper that spring is coming,” the artist says of the work.

George Hallmark’s Blanco will be available, showing a balcony dappled with light and shadow. “After a week in the remote country side of north central Mexico, we returned to Guanajuato for a refreshing shower and extended siesta,” the Texas painter says. “From our balcony window we were awakened to the sounds of mariachi. We soon joined old friends on the jardín for an unforgettable evening of great food, wonderful stories and beautiful music.”

In Greg Beecham’s Ready to Rumble study, the wildlife artist paints a magnificent horse in clear light. “This painting depicts a wild stallion of the Onaqui herd in eastern Utah. He and another stallion spent a lot of time posturing, and then did some actual fighting. I thought the posing was the most interesting aspect, his neck arched and muscles bulging.”
Legacy will host a reception for the show on December 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. —
