Collector’s Focus: Spirit of the Southwest

Now in its third year, Collector’s Focus: Spirit of the Southwest returns to the October issue of Western Art Collector. This section will examine the fusion of cultures, art and traditions that have long been the foundation of the American Southwest, from Texas and New Mexico to Arizona, Southern Utah and Southern California. The Southwest is known for its unique mixing of cultures and people, from Spanish missions and Mexican vaqueros, to Native American influences from the pueblo and other Indigenous peoples, to Anglo influences that originated when artists and explorers ventured into the Western frontier prominently in the 1800s. Celebrate this unique place in this vibrant section in the November issue.
