February 2024

Show Your Artwork in Our February Issue. Plan your marketing around these specially focused features.

Now in its third year, our popular special section Collector’s Focus: The Contemporary West returns to the pages of Western Art Collector. This important annual section of the magazine is devoted to artists, galleries and museums that are pushing the boundaries of Western art into fascinating new directions. These new developments can be seen in color, composition, style, medium and even methods, with artists exploring new ways of depicting the West and its people. In The Contemporary West we pay tribute to the artists who are bringing renewed interest in this exciting genre. (Artwork by Carrie Penley / Gallery Wild)

In the February issue, we return with our fourth edition of the annual special section Collector’s Focus: Into the Wilderness, which is devoted to the lands of the West and the creatures that reside in them. The magnificence of nature will be on full view as we look at historic and contemporary artists who have been captivated by the raw power of America’s wilderness. Subjects will include landscapes and images of wildlife, but also artworks that combine the two and offer a stunning look into the untamed beauty of the American West. Readers will see mountain lions in rocky landscapes, elk grazing through misty meadows, bears wading through salmon-filled streams and other scenes showing places where wildlife and nature collide together in spectacular ways. For the February issue, walk with us Into the Wilderness. (Artwork by Dan Knepper)

Return with us as we embark on a riveting adventure to the Golden State. Known for its rich beauty across a variety of biomes, California not only has deserts and sage-strewn valleys, but also dense forests, snow-topped peaks and an enchanting coastline. From the large cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco, to the smaller destinations of Carmel-by-the-Sea and Palm Desert, the state of California boasts a diverse array of Western events, museums, galleries and talented artists. Join us this February in our State of the Art: California feature as we highlight this Western art hub in conjunction with our coverage and media sponsorship of the Masters of the American West exhibition at the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles.
