Western Art Collector’s 12th annual Art of the Cowboy returns in the December issue! No subject is more iconic in Western art than the American cowboy, and in this issue we honor that subject as depicted in works by many of the top artists working today. This feature will continue to showcase new works from both painters and sculptors as they bring one of the great icons of American history to life in paint and bronze. Featured will be nostalgic scenes of the Wild West, as well as images that evoke the daily life of the cowboy. Don’t miss this chance to show our readers your artwork depicting this timeless figure.

The American prairies and grasslands have long played a significant role in Western art, from Charlie Russell’s depictions of Native Americans crossing the Great Plains and images of wagon trains cutting fresh trails through waist-high grass by N.C. Wyeth, to more modern images by artists such as Martin Grelle and Howard Terpning. This majestic setting will be featured in our first Collector’s Focus: Western Prairie, which will highlight artists and galleries that show these beautiful and iconic scenes in painting and bronze.
