Arrrowhead Rockery

Arrrowhead Rockery

oil on canvas
36 x 24 inches (L x W)
Arrowhead Rockery will always remain as one of my favourite paintings. People often describe rocks as grey colored but if you look very closely at the rocks shown here, you will notice that no grey was used. Instead cereleun blue, magenta, olive green and the like and the color combination bring this painting alive.

Winter creates such unique subjects. The fallen tree that would possibly not have interested me for a painting, becomes more compelling to paint when covered with snow. The woodpecker in the tree that kept coming closer to see what I was doing , really completed the composition.
